Mr. Torrens, a named partner with the firm, has extensive experience handling insurance and commercial litigation matters throughout the State of Arizona. His practice is primarily insurance-related and focuses in the areas of litigation defense and commercial practice. He has personally litigated hundreds of arbitrations (first and third-party) and tried over 25 cases to a jury. Past trials range from contested liability disputes to serious injury cases including wrongful death. Mr. Torrens also accepts cases for plaintiffs involving serious personal injury.
In addition to his litigation experience, Mr. Torrens regularly provides day-to-day advice to corporate clients on a wide array of issues involving Arizona law and local litigation practices.
Although Mr. Torrens focuses his practice on litigation, he is an experienced proponent of alternative dispute resolution as a cost-effective way to reduce litigation expenses. He provides private mediation and arbitration services as a sole or panel member. Further, he has been a Maricopa County Superior Court Judge pro tem since 2006.
Finally, Mr. Torrens regularly lectures locally and nationally on a variety of topics including uninsured/under insured motorist litigation, effectively resolving litigation cases, state and federal medical lien requirements, and current topics in Arizona law.
